Overview

Andrew Brandes brings a versatile corporate and transactional background to the firm’s Business Transactions & Capital Markets Practice Team. He advises clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, corporate governance, and securities compliance, drawing on experience across a range of industries including sports and entertainment, technology, education, real estate, wealth management, and health care. His comprehensive transactional experience allows him to guide clients through complex deals while keeping their broader objectives in focus.

Prior to joining Otten Johnson, Andrew served as Associate General Counsel at Alder Companies, LLC, where he provided legal counsel to the various entities associated with a prominent Colorado family office by leading various real estate transactions, advising on private equity and venture capital investments, and providing general corporate advice. Before that, he spent five years in the Denver office of an AmLaw 20 firm, where he developed a broad corporate and commercial practice.

While at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, Andrew served as senior articles editor for the Denver Law Review and earned a certificate of specialization from the Corporate and Commercial Law Program. He was also honored to be awarded the Bruce B. Johnson Memorial Endowed Scholarship during his second and third years of law school.  He also clerked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Colorado and the Denver City Attorney’s Office.
