Press Release – Brian J. Connolly Joins Otten Johnson

Otten Johnson Robinson Neff + Ragonetti PC (Otten Johnson) is pleased to announce the addition of Brian J. Connolly as an associate. Brian received his JD from the University of Michigan Law School in December of 2012, and a Master of Regional Planning from Cornell University College of Architecture, Art and Planning in 2008. Brian will focus his practice on land use, real estate and litigation law.

“We’re delighted to have Brian join the firm,” remarked Jim Johnson, Otten Johnson’s managing director. “Brian’s work experience outside of law school will add to the depth of our Land Use Practice Group.”

As a planner for the Westchester County (New York) Department of Planning, Brian worked with local officials with regard to fair housing, site development plans, local zoning amendments and comprehensive plans and their consistency with County planning policies.  He authored “Land Use in Westchester,” a report reviewing development patterns as part of “Westchester 2025,” the County’s long-range planning program.

Brian is also a co-author, along with Dwight H. Merriam, of “Group Homes: Strategies for Effective and Defensible Planning and Regulation (American Bar Association, forthcoming 2013); and co-author, along with Mark Wyckoff, of the “Michigan Sign Guidebook: The Local Planning and Regulation of Signs” (Scenic Michigan 2012).
